KTT – Student work and sealing technology

Education, training and cooperation are very important to our company, so we were pleased to welcome students to our sealing technology plant this summer as part of a student work placement. This summer, five young people worked as student workers at KTT: 2 girls and 3 boys. We talked to two of them about their experiences at the factory. One of them has just graduated from the Eötvös József Evangelical High School and has been accepted to the Széchenyi University in Mosonmagyaróvár, where he is studying agricultural and business digitalisation. The other is a third-year student of mechanical and CNC turning at the Metal and Electrical Engineering Technical School.

Both worked in the material preparation hall: sorting, cutting and measuring.

KTT – Student work and sealing technology

How unexpected was it for you to be offered a job in a factory?

M. T.: I came here to gain experience, I expected worse, but I'm enjoying it here.

A. H.: Not at all, because I am currently in an internship because of my profession. I was happy about it.

What is your experience, how do you feel here?

M. T.: The colleagues are very nice and helpful, and the atmosphere is good.

A. H.: I feel completely comfortable, nothing to complain about. I can do the tasks I have been given. The colleagues are very nice and tidy.

How typical is it for your age group to do student work?

M. T.: Because of the prejudices - a factory is noisy, dirty... - my age group would find it difficult to work in such a place.

A. H.: I will be 17 at the end of August. I think my age group is a bit lazy, they want to earn their money under the duvet, not with work. But there are some people who will take a job for a little extra money.

What advice would you give to your age group? Is it worth getting a student job?

M. T.: Go and work, because it's better to work here, than to do nothing at home – and the time goes by quickly.

A. H.: If they work, they can buy what they want by themselves, but of course there are other ways to get it, but I would definitely choose to work for myself.

Do you have any other experiences you'd like to share with us?

M. T.: Everything was fine.

A. H.: I think it's important for everyone to choose a job that suits their skills. As iron workers and maintenance people know, "iron doesn't hurt".
