Rubber Roundtable Meeting, 2024

Founded in 1990 Hungarian Rubber Association (MAGUSZ) and its members are manufacturers and traders of compound and technical rubber products, suppliers of raw and auxiliary materials, laboratory testing, scrap tyre processing companies and educational institutions.

The rubber association held its traditional Rubber Roundtable meeting on 3-4 October 2024, where two representatives of KTT Sealing Technology – Rita Pécsi Head of Materials Management and Gábor Takács Managing Director – met with delegates from the industry.

During the informal discussions, the rubber association invited renowned speakers to give afternoon presentations to provide rubber industry representatives with information on the future of nuclear energy, sustainable value creation, cyber security challenges and the dangers of workplace stress and burnout.

On the second day of the meeting, the rubber industry professionals took part in a very useful and interesting factory visit to Continental's plant in Veszprém, which started production more than 30 years ago. In its own Development Centre and the largest test track in Eastern Europe, nearly 600 development engineers work on the development and testing of electronic brake systems (ABS, ESC) and their components.

Within the group, their headquarters is the overall project leader for ESC systems. ESC (Electronic Stability Control) is designed to reduce the number of off-track accidents and therefore plays a very important role in today's modern cars and is essential to keep high-performance sports and luxury cars in control. Their sensor development team is the centre of competence for Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS) design. The measured values provide information about the battery's state of charge (SOC), state of aging (SOH), and the battery's expected starting capability (SOF).

For years, the factory has been one of the most successful companies and the largest employer in Veszprém County.

The annual conference of the Rubber Industry Association not only offered an opportunity for professional development, but also strengthened our community, which is committed to sustainable innovation so that together we can shape the future of the rubber industry.
